Major maintenance was done in two phases to the Melkweg building on the Lijnbaansgracht in Amsterdam. GebouwNbeheer did the architectural research and consulting.
Work was carried out to insulate and repair the roof, replace window frames and repair facades following architectural research and advice from gebouwNbeheer. The main challenge was to maintain the existing facade appearance. To this end, the wooden window frames were chosen for catch-in frames with detailing approved by the preservation of monuments. For the steel window frames, renovation profiles from ODS were used.
"We have been working with gebouwNbeheer for some time with satisfaction. When I think back to the first meeting, initially to sound out what we could do for each other, a click quickly emerged. That is still the binding factor in all the projects I do with gebouwNbeheer . What makes gebouwNbeheer special is listening carefully to what the client wants (usually the end goal) and setting this out clearly on paper. Constantly refining the questions during a process is what makes it such a pleasure to work with you.
I always feel like there is a grip on a project!"
