The Appel Arts center is housed at 142 Prins Hendrikkade in Amsterdam. The task for gebouwNbeheer was to prepare and supervise the painting of facades and window frames.
Because the color scheme of the facade had to be changed, a limited color-historical research was carried out in advance. A new color scheme was chosen based on the information obtained and consultation with historic preservation authorities. The stucco of the rear facade was removed and replaced with a lime plaster.
At the window frames and the balcony on the front facade, several wood repairs were found to be necessary. At the balcony, the detailing of the attachment of the railings was adjusted to prevent future wood rot.
